Welcome to the Dales of Derby… More than just warm, inviting group accommodation, we offer all the ingredients for making great memories and telling great stories. The first step in any adventure (especially here at the Dales) is bringing amazing people together.
The Dales of Derby is purpose-built group accommodation catering for up to 24 people. The contemporary architecture comprises a warm interior with thoughtful attention to detail, and is arranged to ensure a natural flow for even the largest group.
The generous common area with a wood heater and full kitchen forms the hub of the building. This is a place to gather in the mornings for breakfast and to plan the adventures of the day ahead, then regroup in the evenings to recount your feats and discoveries.
When it’s finally time to wind up for the evening, retire to the comfortable sleeping area. Four rooms feature queen-sized beds and the remaining two rooms in the sleeping area contain group bunk bed accommodations for 16.
The Dales was awarded the 2019 Barry McNeill Award for Sustainable Architecture along with the Commercial Architecture Award by the Australian Institute of Architects, Tasmanian Chapter.

Cancellation Policy
By booking at the Dales you have agreed to the following terms and conditions:
If you need to cancel we need at least 21 days notice, and will refund your fee less a $250 administration fee.
Check-in after 3pm, and check out by 10am.
Please note that children remain under your care, and must be supervised at all times. We are situated right on the banks of the river, and on the main road of Derby. We also have an open fire, and bunk beds, just to name a few items of caution.
Outdoor smoking only.
You are responsible for damage, breakages, theft and loss of the Property and any part of it during your stay. You must notify us of this immediately. Management may recover from you repair or replacement cost (at Managements discretion).
The loss of a key will require a complete replacement of several door barrels and keys, to protect the subsequent client’s privacy. You will be charged with the cost of this, should this be required.
We recommend all guests purchase travel insurance since Management are not responsible for any injuries, illness or accidents that may occur whilst staying at our property.
